Story of two Dark Minds

When you find that one wavelength that can produce resonance, your infinite wandering comes to an end. It had almost happened to him. They'd loved to change their worlds but their dark minds didn't know what to do. So, they could only leave it up to a fiction...

It was a tinkle and he turned his head;
There was no rolling coin, no clashing bangles-
There was only vacuum, no wind to tease his chime;
Yet there was a tinkle from not so faraway land-
There could be theories and no slightest doubt;
Ears could betray but this wave had hit his mind-
Of course, he knew his mind was very very dark...

He saw a blue alien through his glass door
Gazing at him with no wonder-
It was a 'she' and she had breasts
Plumpier than ladies he knew,
Perhaps to encase her mercury heart;
And of course, her mind too was very very dark...

Love stories touch our heart sad ones move our soul-
This one had no genre, what good two aliens could do?
They sketched, they sang, till sun went down and
He saw her spaceship in the illusive twilight sky-
Like a mad buffalo he ran and broke the glass
To find none and laugh his lungs out one last time;
Even words can't give a fate to a story so goddamn dark!

May be, they could leave it up to a change... but they chose the easy way. Sometimes the price is too high and other times you're just a miser.

Balance it but don't Crash

Ah you are lecturing me on balanced healthy diet? What the hell! I don't care for those extra pounds and they are none of your damn business too. I live to eat, as simple as that.”- people with such response either fails to understand the real meaning of a balanced diet or, they are too scared fail in the attempt of transition to a healthier meal plan. Balanced diet is not bland, boring or brutal suppression of your gustatory satisfaction, but, it is a combination of what you take (even more than that) in such a proportion which will meet your body's energy demands to carry on with its normal physiological functions. According to your sex, how old you are, how big you're, how active you are and your current state of health, your body needs a certain amount of fuel to run your engine 24/7 without a glitch. So, purpose of a balanced healthy diet is to provide that particular amount of fuel to your faithful body. Technically, a balanced healthy diet should contain 50-70% carbohydrates, 15-30% fats, 10-15% proteins and all essential micronutrients in traces. Practically, a balanced diet needs few more things- your understanding, acceptance and consistent practice. Could I convey the message here? A dietician or a doctor can better explain you the role of each element in your diet but, in commoner's line of thought what I understand is- less carbohydrate means lack of energy to do work, less fat means poor insulation and deficient energy store for the body, and less protein means debilitated muscles. Conversely, more carbohydrate means diabetes, more fat means obesity/cardiac ailments, and more protein means pooping/puking out! Thus, as taking less is as unpleasant as taking more why not motivate yourself for a balanced healthy diet which will take care of your wealth (Hint: recap the old saying)?

Watch it All and Watch it Fast

Cricket is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball as far as one can with weapon singularly ill-designed for the purpose, so that almost a dozen of homo sapiens exert themselves on the ground to stop the ball from reaching the fence. Could I define the game of cricket? Ouch, I can actually smell and feel a quintal of rotten tomatoes approaching me! Chill dude, I was pulling your emotions, or virtual legs. I love cricket as much as you do. So, let me try to define the game of cricket as we Indians perceive it- Cricket is not just a game but the phenomenal few hours, a day or five when our breathing gets synchronized to each ball delivered on the ground, i.e. inhalation starting as soon as the bowler runs in only to exhale after the ball bypasses the batsman or makes a sweet sound on striking the surface of his willow! Cricket is the charm that unites two minds of immiscible ideologies. Cricket is the excuse that can make an otherwise sincere guy couch potato for a day. Cricket is that drizzle in the drought of topics in a group. It is an omnipotent force that has all those shades from snow-white to pitch-black. I know cricket can't be defined by a cricket fan, especially in a country where an imported sport is more impactful than a religion.

‘Khushi Ke Pal' - a priceless Reminiscence

Parents were supposed to make the cast to shape up their children. It was customary to abide by the strict set of guidelines framed by parents, starting from accepting the type of haircut to the life-partner chosen by them, and of course without an audacity to question. But time has changed, so are our kids. They're smarter, more interactive and certainly much more inquisitive. So, parenting needs an update too and, 'buddy parenting' is that updated concept! We try to inject our children with all moral values ranging from those which we had read in moral science books in our schooldays to those we never follow. Yes, there’s no doubt on the fact that we, the parents and politicians are greatest disciples of hypocrisy. As ‘theoretically good’ parents we preach of honesty, kindness, compassion, respect, integrity and what not, to our offspring but don’t get slightest prick of conscience when we practice bribery, rudeness, falsehood or any other ‘so called’ adult behaviors. I know your vindictive warm blood is trying to gush towards our much respected politicians, but I beg your pardon, here I’m only talking of our parental mannerisms. I’m asking for your apology once again if you consider yourself a stainless father/mother and share no murkiness which I talked of… but, in that case please give me a chance to interview you over a mug of Nilgiri coffee. Here I’ll narrate a small incidence where my son, when he was 4 years old, pushed me to an awkward situation but ultimately made me very proud giving me a ‘Khushi Ke Pal' to savor for lifetime!
