Locked Up

I look up to the moving clouds
Daydreaming of a monsoon again,
Overlooking my niggling torn out boots…

I think of the blinding sun,
I analyse the random wings,
I sympathise for global warming,
I dream of the mysterious world peace…
And the moment my cell phone beeps
The sun slips down the evening sky,
Unfaithful birds hurry to their nests,
Earthly warmth transcends to moon,
My white pigeon dissolves in the dark…

I switch off the phone as an escapist’s game,
But in the midnight to buy some sleep
Once again I switch it on...
