Christmas Dinners

Love was in the air
It was a December night!
Old John dropped the cake
He’d got a meagre eye sight…
The fireplace was losing its fire,
Cottons of snow kissed the pane-
Old John was spilling his hot soup,
In Christmas he was the only insane…

Love was in the air
It was the Jesus’ night!
Poor David lost his mood,
With his pa he had a fight…
Folks made merry in the pub,
Some savoured the country wine-
David cursed his heaven dweller mom,
In that dark room all alone he had to dine…

Love was in the air
It was the Santa’s night!
Little Kelly cried for pudding,
The almond cake she couldn’t bite…
Family relished over a roasted turkey
Wrappers of presents covered the floor-
Little Kelly left her socks in the frosty arcade,
In her sleep the red man kept knocking her door…
