After the Sunset

He loathed the casual breeze quivering his arms,
He hated the dull cattle and rotten leaves kissing his feet,
He could never love those flakes of snow or the brotherly fence;
All he wanted was to use his worth and breathe in an elegant world…

One day his wish was granted-
He was taken where civilisation was born,
He was bathed and polished with the finest of arts
All he had to do was to embellish the ceiling of the house of Lord…

The holy book and the confessions failed to touch him-
He sweated under the flame of thousand austere candles,
That is when the pompous Oak discovered what he ever loved
His once evergreen roots, now buried still in that countryside orchard!
