Moon and the Minar

A couple of days back, after an exhaustive walk in the city (Kolkata) when I was waiting for my bus in Esplanade, hunger tickled my tummy and I ordered egg roll. While I was munching through the sauce dipped pieces of cucumber and onion I noticed the crescent moon adjacent to the Sahid Minar, somewhat below its summit as visible from my viewing angle at ground level. My camera had worked hard in the day but not tired enough to miss that frame...
A small thought- however glossy and grand our creations are, they are still thousand times paler to the simplest creation of nature! So which one is standing out here- the glowing Minar or the humble Moon?

Softness of Pink

Our garden is sadly getting barren day by day and more sadly the entire blame rests on our "lack of initiative" attitude towards it! I'm too lazy to pet a puppy even though I long for one... too lazy to even jot down the stories those overcrowd my mind at times... so it's much easier for me to digest the blame than taking a step towards gardening (am I sounding like a moron?).... Presently only small pink or crimson roses are found scattered in malnourished branches of all the poor shrubs and that too not daily. A couple of days back, after I failed (failing is so common with me!) to get up early to capture some sunrise photographs in the riverbank I thought to aim at those fast extincting beauties in my garden...

Spring Onion Flowers

As per Wikipedia (that's the only sensible link came up after desperate googling!), Spring Onions are the edible plants of various Allium species, all of which are "onion-like", having hollow green leaves and lacking a fully developed root bulb. They are also called green onions, scallions, salad onions, green shallots, onion sticks, long onions, baby onions, precious onions, yard onions, syboes etc. They're no special food item unlike lobsters or Hilsa and usually manage to get an unnoticed corner of our vegetable basket. But they have something awesome to exhibit... their white tiny flowers... and my Nikkor was too sensitive to appreciate that!

In the afternoon I promised to stay away from my obesity-inducing slumber and so wanted to make it productive by clicking some cool frames. But again my laziness was restricting my mobility inside my house only... so, ran behind two cats for a while and at last when I failed in capturing those restless souls my Nikkor showed me something more charming amidst the heap of vegetables... I never knew that spring onion flowers can compete with jasmine in a close up/macro shot!
